Marketing News: TikTok Stories Have Entered The Building!

TikTok is piloting short-lived 24-hour content on their platform as we’ve seen with Instagram Stories and Snapchat. TikTok will not only be introducing TikTok Stories, but they will be adding their own twist to it!

Read on to find out how…

Since the introduction of Snapchat Stories in 2013, other platforms have adapted the feature: Instagram Stories, YouTube Shorts, the short-lived Twitter Fleets, and now TikTok Stories.

But what differentiates TikTok Stories from other social media platforms?

The main difference is that users can leave comments on Stories and see who has viewed the content.

Rather of sending a list of private story views and replies to a DM, TikTok Stories will display user comments on the story itself, as well as an additional tab that allows users to see who has viewed any given story.

This will be a game changer for businesses and consumers on the app, as it allows for more transparency in engagement and two-way conversations in Stories.

If you’ve been thinking of giving TikTok Stories a shot? Hold on a little, they haven’t been fully implemented it yet!

TikTok is already trailing out a small pilot test of the feature in hopes of gaining insight and feedback from its users.

Want to know how you can post on TikTok Stories?

Once you have access to the new feature (unless you already do, of course!)

To share a TikTok Stories post, follow these simple steps:

  • Tap the camera button from the new navigation bar on the left-hand side of the screen. You can either record videos on the spot or upload photos and videos from your camera roll.
  • Personalise your story by using TikTok’s regular tools like sounds, effects, text, or stickers.
  • Upload your story.

You’ll know if a TikTok user has a story live if they have a blue ring around their profile picture. You can press on their profile picture to view their story.

While the TikTok For You Page displays content from all TikTok accounts, the story panel only displays stories from accounts that users follow.

Users who do not follow you may miss out on your content because they disappear after 24 hours. As a result, it’s critical to encourage people to follow you on TikTok so they don’t miss any of your stories.
